nice hot-air intake and new expansion tank.... I take it you've wisely refreshed your cooling system recently?

Dude, I freaking LOVE it! Sounds killer and that's no joke. Vicious!
A few months back I did a "muffler delete", (euphemism for straight pipes) on my '09 GT500, and I can't get enough of it.
Makes me giggle like a school girl everytime I dip into the throttle. And, don't even get me started on the pop, pop, burble as I down shift through the gears around town. Hehehe. Boys and their toys. Lol
Good work. It's awesome.

I'm on my third radiator. I've replaced the upper and lower hoses, put a thermometer in the upper, 'cause fuck coolant burns. Put in a Fail Safe lower temp thermostat, the previous owner had put in a metal housing. New tank as you noted and new sensors. That's just the cooling system.
That warm air intake is actually functional, the engine fan constantly blows cool air on it at idle and nice fresh air from the inlet hole gets to it with out traveling through the crazy straw factory air box.

If only it worked so well on 4 bangers... If only.

You could get UEL headers get some burble up in there. Don't know what it sounds like on an inline 4.

Flat 4 probably would sound okay. But i dont think ive ever head a decent sounding I4 straight pipe. Unless its really small displacement, or extremely large displacement.

Do race cars count? They are always super aggressive in race cars.
![]() 09/03/2013 at 22:29 |

I dont think we can count them. They are not a street oriented car. And also, that has a turbo. Straight pipe turbos sound cool. NA straight pipes are very iffy.

Turbo and supercharger. It is the sexiest inline 4 ever!! NA straight pipes are loud as hell, I love it. Turbos sound cool but dampen the sound :(
![]() 09/03/2013 at 22:44 |

Meh, preludes do it best....
They may dampen the sound, but that choo choo is well worth it.
Dont get me wrong, i love straight pipe anything. But to live with a straight pipe everyday, id like something that sounds cool all the time.

Do you know any more info on that car? Most times you need to run race fuel on twincharged set ups. Also the whistles are a plus as well. 99% of the time straight pipes become intolerable during DD, but for a Sunday driver they are a must!

I kind of like this. More info please.
